Spencer Park continued their perfect season, netting five goals in their round eight victory over Vikings in the Lower Great Southern Hockey Association men’s A-grade competition on Saturday.

The reigning premiers have enjoyed a brilliant start to 2023 and made it eight straight wins as they dominated Vikings from the JUoutset.

Goals from James Leiper, Alex Fergie, Brock Keymer and Mitchell Dolan ensured Park remained unbeaten after eight games.

Their tight defensive unit gave up only one goal as Vikings star Paul Stobie found the back of the net.

Leiper was vital in the 5-1 result while teammates Charlie Hudson and Brodie Sarre were also influential.

Stobie stood out in a losing side and Vikings also had strong contributions from David Pyle and Josh Dallimore.

Park are well clear on the top of the ladder, collecting a perfect 24 points from their eight games while conceding only 10 goals in that time.

In the other men’s A-grade clash played in Mt Barker on Saturday, North Albany recorded a resounding 6-1 win over Manypeaks.

The victory helped Redbacks move to 10 points and jump to second place on the ladder, replacing Peaks.

It was a third win in eight games for the Redbacks while the result handed Peaks their fourth loss of the campaign.

The women’s A-grade competition had a bye for the Women’s Country Championships in Perth.
