Legend Reborn in Albany
All the hits of music legend Roy Orbison come alive at Albany Entertainment Centre with a visit from international show Roy Orbison Reborn.
Presented by the Ben Maiorana Entertainment, the tribute will touch on Orbison’s music career, which spanned for more than 30 years.
With a voice strikingly similar to the music star’s, Dean Bourke takes on the lead role of Orbison and said the life of such an influential musician needed to be shared with today’s generations.
“Even at a young age, I knew Roy was very special,” he said. “I didn't know how much of an effect at that time Roy would have on my life.
“Roy Orbison’s music is as popular as ever and he is an artist who deserves never to be forgotten — Roy was simply the best.”
For two hours, the audience will not only hear the greatest hits, but relive a chronological journey through his life — a story that even dedicated fans might not know.
“I address the highs and lows, including terrible tragedies that struck Roy's life,” Bourke said.
“I hope that people walk away from my show having not only had a wonderful night’s entertainment, but hopefully learning a little bit more about Roy's life.
“It's an absolute honour and privilege for me and my performance is something I take very seriously and treat with the ultimate respect for Roy and his music. I feel truly blessed.”
The multi award-winning show was previously been a national sellout, which incorporated more than 80 shows nationally in the season.
Bourke said he, with his support band and touring crew, work extremely hard to ensure the audience were entertained beyond their expectations.
“My costumes are the same as Roy’s, I do my hair the same, my sun shades were custom made in the US the same as Roy’s along with my custom guitar strap and signature Gibson ES335 Guitar,” he said.
The show visits town on August 6 and tickets are available at the box office or online through Ticketek.
