Leading city jockey Chris Parnham and top WA trainer Adam Durrant team up with six strong chances in Albany

The State’s leading jockey and trainer, Chris Parnham and Adam Durrant, are eyeing a big day out at the Albany Racing Club on Thursday. The dynamic duo will combine in five of the seven races at Percy Spencer Racecourse as they look to make it a winning trip south. Durrant’s strong team make up part of the 78 nominations for the midweek meeting. Parnham and Durrant will team up in the opening event with progressive three-year-old Hole In One, who is well placed to break maiden status after being placed at all three career starts so far. Hole In One will jump from barrier seven for Parnham with 57kg in the field of nine starters in the TABtouch Better Your Bet Maiden (1450m). After going down as a short-priced favourite on debut in Pinjarra, Final Authority will be looking to bounce back in the Wellington and Reeves Maiden (1100m) at Albany, jumping from barrier nine with 57kg in race two. Progressive type Soviet Spy will have to contend with 61kg and the outside barrier in the field of 10 for Parnham and Durrant in the Freight Lines Group Handicap (1900m). Consistent mare Tri For Us will be looking for her first win in 264 days in the Albany Stockfeeds Handicap (1900m) from gate nine with 59kg. Promising three-year-old filly Special Royale has been scratched from the Pelicans Handicap (1230m) after winning on debut on last month in Mt Barker. Durrant also has consistent gelding Garage Days entered in race six and will face tough opposition from a wide gate. Top jockey Brad Rawiller was set to take a book of rides in Albany but suffered concussion at trials on Tuesday and has been stood down for 12 days. The first race is at 1.57pm with the final event set down for 5.30pm. Meanwhile at Ascot on Saturday, Albany trainer Steve Wolfe has Hear Me Sing and Let’sdeal entered in the $125,000 listed Challenge Stakes (1500m).
