An Albany law firm is celebrating its centenary this year.

HHG Legal Group was known as Hudson Henning & Goodman until 2006, when the firm added a West Perth office to its Albany and Mt Barker services.

In 2003, Simon Creek and Murray Thornhill bought the firm.

It has since grown from about five staff to more than 60, opening another branch office in Mandurah in 2015.

HHG Legal Group is a highly awarded, fast-growing, full-service law firm practising in family law, litigation, commercial law, criminal law, wills and estates, property and tax. It all started in Albany.

Mr Creek said the Great Southern capital would always be the true head office of HHG legal.

“It is a true honour to be the managing director of HHG Legal Group 100 years after establishment,” he said.

“The whole team is excited and we will be announcing new and useful progress across all of our offices in the next few months.”

Mr Creek said law had come a long way in the past century.

“All adults can vote, women's rights are being protected, and racism is being fought,” he said.

“We enjoy freedoms most of the world can only dream of and all of that has been achieved on the back of excellent lawyers with vision and a passion for law reform.

“It makes me proud to be a lawyer — certainly one in a firm that has watched and contributed to it all happening.

“No business can hit 100 years without amazing staff and clients.

“You all know who you are and we thank you for your support.”
