In the final round of the regular season last Saturday the Albany Netball Association joined in Daffodil Day fundraising in support of cancer research by wearing yellow.

This was the last attempt for teams to secure their spot in the finals, which start this weekend.

In the round 15 B1 contest between Narrikup 6 and Royals Saints 5, Narrikup prevailed comfortable 19-goal winners.

Narrikup 6 started the first quarter with a bang, scoring 18 goals to lead by 14 at the first change.

Shooters Ta Paea Keremete and Krystal Taylor were impressive for Narrikup, scoring very quickly.

The second quarter played out a little more evenly with Narrikup scoring nine and Royals Saints adding seven but Narrikup still held a convincing 27-11 lead at half-time.

In the third quarter Royals Saints moved Krystal Prunster to centre and she made some incredible intercepts and turnovers for her team.

Her fight for the ball was inspiring to watch but was not quite enough for her side as Royals Saints were outscored by four, leaving Narrikup 20 goals in front.

Narrikup defender Evie Brenton-Reed was impressive in rebounds helping her team score eight goals to seven in the final quarter, to win 48-27.

Narrikup finished on top while Royals Saints hung onto fourth.

In the other B1 games Kangas 8 defeated Griffins 8, 30-27 and Magpies 4 defeated Bullets 6, 47-17.
