A large group of Albany Junior Soccer Association players are taking part in an Asian tour, representing WA Country at the Singa Cup and Phuket Youth Cup.

The Football West Development department selected the players in five squads after their perform-ances during the QBE county week and a resulting country camp.

The AJSA has 18 players, the highest number in several years, across the WA Country squads with the boys’ under-12, under-14, under-16 and girls’ under-16 teams competing in the Singa Cup, which started this week, while the boys’ under-13 side will play in December’s Phuket Youth Cup.

Football West paid credit to the strength of the local competitions and said this tour was a great opportunity for talented players in the region who did have access to metropolitan pathways.

The AJSA representatives are Ella Neunuebel, Zara Whooley, Charlotte Musk, Tavanna Lembo (under-16 girls), Henry Goldsmith (under-12 boys), Charlie Walters, Tom Gawned, Liam Rubie-Mazzali (under-13 boys), Angus Spencer, Liam Bradshaw, Kit Nuthall, Ewen Maisey, Oliver Trichilo, Parker Wingard, Callum Jones, Jacques Swarts (under-14 boys), Jack Semple and Tyson Rowe (under-16 boys).
