Junior point guard steps up
Up-and-coming Albany point guard Keanu Weeden gained valuable experience at a School Sport WA all-stars game at Bendat Basketball Centre in Perth on Sunday.
The 16-year-old represented SSWA under-18 squad as they beat Associative Christian Colleges in convincing fashion 93-65.
Weeden was selected in the SSWA side after an impressive performance at country week earlier this year, with only one other regional player in the squad.
Weeden finished with two points and eight assists.
“It was really good to play with all the metro kids and it was a fun little game so I definitely learnt a few things while I was up there,” he said.
Weeden was also selected as one of four reserves for the WA country under-18 side in February.
He also plays in the Raiders under-18 development squad and Knights in Albany men’s A-grade.
