More international buyers had an opportunity to sample the produce of the Great Southern recently during a third inbound trade mission driven by the Great Southern Development Commission.

The week-long program saw buyers from China, Indonesia, Israel, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Taiwan connecting with premium producers from Perth, the South West and the Great Southern region.

The Great Southern portion of the program featured a dinner at Albany’s White Star Hotel and a lunch at The Dam in Denmark, which each served as a regional showcase of produce.

Site visits to some of the region’s agribusinesses were also conducted, including a tour of Green Range Farm.

GSDC chief executive Natasha Monks said the quality of the region’s produce and the value of the unique advantages of products of received high praise.

“We know the food products our local Great Southern producers create are undoubtedly of the highest standard, and greatly appealing to key international export markets,” she said.

“By guiding the international buyers themselves through the Great Southern, connecting them to the land these extraordinary products are created from, and the people who create them, our buyers and producers alike make meaningful trade relationships.”

The buyers mission follows on from two previous visits from an international buyers delegation in 2022, and an outbound trade delegation showcasing the region in Singapore and Thailand.
