Intern home to present brekky radio

ABC Regional WA audiences can look forward to a fresh program line-up in the new year.

Eoin Cameron Internship recipient Katie McAllister will present ABC Great Southern Breakfast in 2019.

McAllister began her intern role at the ABC in September last year, based in Perth before returning to her home town of Albany.

She said the new role was a privilege, to be broadcasting across the Great Southern to tight-knit communities.

“I feel so honoured to have started my career with the ABC as the Eoin Cameron Memorial Intern, and to be broadcasting from the Eoin Cameron studio is a bit surreal,” she said.

“Following Andrew Collins on brekky is more terrifying than a future of 4am starts, but I feel ridiculously grateful to be listening to and sharing stories from a beautiful community in one of the most stunning parts of the world.”

ABC Great Southern breakfast presenter Collins will be exten-ding his reach to present the WA Regional Drive program from January 7.
