IN PICTURES: Wine loves and racegoers flock to Mt Barker for Grapes and Gallops

People flocked to Frost Park to be a part of this year’s Grapes and Gallops festival last Sunday. The popular event had a two-year hiatus after extreme heat caused the meeting’s cancellation in 2019 and then track-safety problems in 2020 forced the race meet to be moved to Albany. However, hundreds of punters soaked up the sunshine, enjoying action both on and off the track. Spectators enjoyed wine tasting, food, live entertainment and the Fashions on the Field competition was very well supported. The $100,000 Mt Barker Sprint was the highlight of the racing action, with Silentz taking out the big race.
