The Albany Chamber of Commerce and Industry has kicked off the year with its first social sundowner, which was attended by We Bury the Dead producer Grant Sputore and director Zak Hilditch. ACCI membership co-ordinator Rex Beach said that the City of Albany-hosted evening provided attendees with a great opportunity to meet, catch up and network. “We had a good turnout and it went very well,” he said. “We weren’t going to have one in January but the city asked us to put it on. “We got a chance to talk about the city, various bits and pieces, and Grant Sputore from The Penguin Empire — he’s been doing that zombie film down here — he spoke about that a little bit as well.” Sputore is in the Great Southern with WA director Hilditch as cast and crew work on road movie We Bury The Dead starring Daisy Ridley. “He had a good chat and spoke about what it was all about,” Mr Beach said. The next ACCI social sundowner will be a Market Place event hosted by Great Southern Grammar.
