IN PICTURES: Toast and roast to celebrate retiring Albany MP Peter Watson

Premier Mark McGowan was among a crowd of supporters who converged on Albany Entertainment Centre on Thursday night to roast and toast retiring MP Peter Watson as his 20-year political career draws to a close. Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan, Energy Minister Bill Johnston and fellow retiring Cabinet member Collie MP Mick Murray came to Albany to give their colleague a send-off. Mr Watson’s tenure as the Member for Albany will end on March 13, when the battle for the hotly-contested seat comes to a head at the 2021 State Election. Labor candidate Rebecca Stephens took to the stage on Thursday night to speak about her mentor and the man she hopes to replace in State Parliament.
