It’s Seniors Week and a host of events across the city are keeping the 60-and-over crowd on their toes. On Wednesday, about 40 seniors ranging from 60 to 90-years-old took to the courts at the Albany Leisure and Aquatic Centre for social sports, including pickleball, table tennis, and boules. The event is one of a series taking place throughout the week along with other fun activities like pottery, Zumba, line dancing, photography, and Pilates as well as workshops on recycling and nutrition. The City of Albany program caters for community members aged over 60, promoting positive ageing and active participation in social life. The events are supported by COTA, the Department of Communities and Lotterywest. Bookings are essential — contact Maddison Murray on 6820 3037 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
