Albany turned on its best conditions on Friday for the opening night of Shakespeare in the Park presented by The Fremantle Theatre Company. A stunning sunset over Albany’s Historic Whaling Station was the perfect backdrop for the company’s Down Under reimagining of the Bard’s Twelfth Night. It was a night for families as people packed the lawn of the Whaling Station’s amphitheatre for an outdoor theatre experience. The tale of a young woman disguising herself as a man to serve a handsome duke, dazzled audiences who came from as far as Perth to enjoy the evening of entertainment. The show kicked off just after 7pm with the last light of a spectacular, southern sunset illuminating the performance. After its shows on the Albany coast last weekend, FTC will return north for a final show in Perth’s Kings Park.
