Hundreds of racegoers gathered at Mt Barker Turf Club on Sunday for Grapes and Gallops to cast their bets, pick their winners and flash their fascinators. The $100,000 TABtouch Mt Barker Sprint (1300m) brought sun and smiles to the town as punters crammed into the race course to rally their prized picks to victory and be part of the popular event that also showcases local food and wine. Leading Perth trainer Adam Durrant’s talented four-year-old and race favourite Supersession saluted in the 1300m feature race, leaving plenty of punters happy. Jockey Clint Johnston-Porter was aboard Supersession to complete the pair’s perfect winning treble on the day. Mt Barker Turf Club also ran multiple Fashions on the Field competitions for the best-dressed boys, girls, ladies and gents.
