Racegoers enjoyed a rare Saturday meeting in the Great Southern, as punters flocked to Albany Racing Club for Ladies Day. There was plenty of action off the track with live music, children’s entertainment and fashions on the field competition. Amy Dixon was crowned the winner of the ladies division, walking away with a pink and white Argyle diamond pendant valued at $4399 from Mark Blyth Fine Jewellery. Samantha McLean and Marilyn Fagan were runners-up while Vanessa Luyton was the best dressed local. Max Roney took out the men’s category. On track, young Esperance trainer Georgia Grant claimed the biggest win of her career after Eurogem stormed to victory in the $40,000 Pelicans Ladies Bracelet (1600m).
