IN PICTURES: More than $4000 raised at inaugural ACCI Men’s Mental Health Golf Day at Albany Golf Club

Pivots Support Services and headspace Albany will share in the more than $4000 raised during the inaugural Albany Chamber of Commerce and Industry Men’s Mental Health Golf Day on Sunday. More than 50 participants braved the wet conditions on Sunday morning to play nine holes of social golf before helping to raise funds during a lunchtime function which included an auction and a talk by guest speaker Peter Hughes. Mr Hughes, a survivor of the 2002 Bali bombings, joined participants on the Albany fairways before talking about the importance of resilience and making an effort to maintain strong mental health. The ACCI saw the event as an opportunity to put men’s mental health on the agenda at the start of Men’s Health Week in order to prompt conversations during the week. Men’s health week runs from June 12 to 18.
