IN PICTURES: Industry participants celebrate successful 2023-24 season at Great Southern Racing awards night

Members of the racing industry gathered for the Great Southern Racing awards on Thursday, May 30. The awards celebrated the 2023-24 season in the Great Southern, comprising meetings at Albany and Mt Barker. Albany Racing Club hosted the presentations, with those in attendance enjoying refreshments and food as they mingled. Race caller Craig Morrison was the MC for the awards. ARC president Ken Thomas also spoke to the crowd. Albany pair Steve Wolfe and Natasha Faithfull took home the major awards. Wolfe claimed yet another Great Southern Trainer of the Year title, while Faithfull was the Great Southern Leading Senior Rider. Rosie Mahony won the leading apprentice award and trainer Adam Durrant had the best strike rate. One of the most popular winners was Oxbridge, who was crowned Horse of the Year for local trainer Stephen Sheehy and owners the Belfield family.
