It was fun in the sun for the Disabled Surfers Association Great Southern first Let’s Go Surfing Day of 2024 at Middleton Beach on Saturday.
Perfect weather saw a turnout of about 70 volunteers, allowing the 39 surfers a second go at the waves.
Squeals of delight filled the air as surfers took to the waves accompanied by volunteers.
The Best Wave award was given to Bryce Sevier while Joe D’Ameida won Best Wipeout and Merve Chambers took out won Volunteer of the Day.
The presence of seaweed in front of the tents didn’t make for salty spirits as participants made their way around it to the water.
The next Let’s Go Surfing Day will be held at Middleton Beach on February 17.
