IN PICTURES: Crowds brave the rain for 128th edition of the Albany Agricultural Show

Crowds braved the rain and flocked through the gates for the 128th Albany Agricultural Show over two fun-packed days last week. About 16.6mm of rain fell on Albany on Friday and Saturday, but the show went ahead as planned despite the at-times wet and windy conditions. Sideshow alley, a packed animal pavilion, the log chop events and the sheep dog trials were among the most popular attractions. The first day of the show ended with a bang as fireworks lit up the overcast night sky. Albany Agricultural Society president Rob Wright said he was pleased with the attendance. “Particularly Friday when we had a lot of people come through — it was really busy, the traders were really happy and the flow we had through the pavilions as well as the outdoor trades was really good,” he said. “Saturday’s was a bit of a shame with the weather, it was that drizzly rain all day, but it was still amazing how many were out and about with kids wrapped up in ponchos.”
