A sold-out crowd was treated to Nick Cave covers, readings and a bunch of stories at the launch of Into Your Arms: Nick Cave’s Songs Reimagined at the Albany Entertainment Centre on Friday. The book, which includes a contribution from Albany author Jon Doust, features a number of short stories inspired by the lyrics of the much acclaimed Australian songwriter. Doust was joined by fellow contributor Gillian O’Shaughnessy on stage as they did readings from the book, talked about the inspiration behind their stories and their connections to Cave. Simon and Tammy London were joined by their son and Caleb Drage to perform covers of Cave song’s to keep the crowd entertained in between stories, with a couple of cameos from from Lester Coyne on bass. All proceeds from the event will go to the Albany Community Hospice.
