IN PICTURES: Albany raises vital funds for McHappy Day in support of sick children

Albany McDonald’s staff and customers emptied their pockets for Ronald McDonald House at the weekend for McHappy Day. Saturday marked 30 years of McHappy Day, an annual fundraiser which helps to support families with seriously ill children. McDonald’s Albany owner Darren Tyrrell said nearly $6000 was raised across the two Albany stores. “We are really delighted with the result and really it was just through sales and cash donations, so how good’s that?” he said. “We had a ball. All in all it was a fantastic day for us raising some much-needed funds for Ronald McDonald House.” Albany Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service members joined in the fun, manning the drive-through and collecting donations throughout the morning.
