Impressive record at the annual Netball WA NAIDOC Carnival continued by Albany Grassroots under-12 side
Albany Grassroots maintained their impressive record at the annual Netball WA NAIDOC Carnival in Perth as their under-12 side claimed silverware on Sunday.
The event is usually held in July but because of COVID-19 lockdowns, it was moved to November 7.
Albany Grassroots was represented by two teams — under-10s and under-12s — and one of them came home with a title.
The under-12 side, right, coached by Cherie Muir, went through the carnival undefeated, with a fantastic win over Narrogin in the decider.
Their winning margin was more than 10 goals in four of their five qualifying games.
The girls were not going to let Narrogin put a dampener their terrific carnival in the grand final, with Albany Grassroots prevailing 10-4 to be crowned champions.
Natalie Simpson, pictured below left, had an outstanding carnival and won fairest and best for the entire division after being named MVP in the grand final win.
The under-10 side, coached by Justine Lee and Yvette Ugle, won three of their five games.
