“2023’s SR TAFE Award winners epitomise excellence in student achievement, customer service and teaching excellence within vocational education and training,” she said.

“Their accomplishments not only reflect the outstanding talent cultivated within our institution but also underscore the dedication of our lecturers to deliver top-tier training.”

To Ms Merrifield, who completed certificates 2 and 3 in horticulture at the Denmark campus, winning the award at the ceremony came as a shock.

“It was a complete surprise, I wasn’t expecting it,” she said.

“I just went along because I thought it would be a nice evening.”
