Historical child sexual abuse arrest

A Great Southern man has been arrested after an investigation into allegations of historical child sexual abuse.

It is alleged the man sexually assaulted a girl known to him, between 1974 and 1981.

She was seven years old at the time of the first incident.

Perth Detectives with the assistance of Albany Detectives have charged the 86 year old man with three counts of unlawful carnal knowledge of a child under 13 years of age.

He is due to appear in the Albany Magistrates Court today.
