Two teams vying for the Albany Junior Soccer Association under-12 league title, Parklands and Denmark, fought out a 13-goal thriller when they met last Saturday.

In a highly entertaining encounter, Parklands started the stronger, scoring five goals in the first half to their opponents’ two.

Denmark produced a remarkable comeback in the second half and levelled the match at 6-6 before Parklands finally found the winner.

Little Grove were too strong for John Calvin, winning 5-1, while Albany Primary, another title contender, kept their perfect record intact with a hard-fought 5-0 victory over St Josephs.

Great Southern Grammar defeated Mt Lockyer, 12-0, and Australian Christian College beat Flinders Park, 7-0.

In the under-13s competition, Polonia Red and Great Southern Grammar were locked at 2-2 at half-time, setting up an intriguing second-half battle.

Instead of becoming open and more goals flowing, the match became a little cagey with neither side wanting to concede. Polonia found the back of the net late on to secure the three points with a 3-2 win.

Albany Bayswater earned all the points against John Calvin, winning 5-0. Denmark Black smashed Rovers, 6-0 and Denmark White defeated Polonia White, 2-0.
