Henry Roy Graham: Albany man appears in court for assault and RSL Albany sub-branch damage and theft

An Albany man accused of committing a string of violent and disorderly crimes in one night, including stealing from the RSL and repeatedly kicking someone in the face, has appeared in court for the first time. Henry Roy Graham appeared in Albany Magistrates Court last Thursday via video link from Albany Regional Prison charged with criminal damage, burglary, stealing, assault, disorderly behaviour, and failing to obey an order. At about 12.40am on September 21, the 27-year-old was arrested and given a move-on notice for allegedly yelling and punching shop windows near Eve Late Night Bar. Twenty minutes after his release on a summons, he allegedly kicked a person in the face three times, causing them a nosebleed. He then allegedly broke into the RSL Albany sub-branch, smashing a front window with a brick and damaging doors, memorabilia, windows, furniture, and the bar, and spraying the fire extinguisher throughout the building. Police arrested him at 2.25am carrying $6000 of items allegedly stolen from the RSL, including a fire extinguisher, laptop bags, laptops, laptop chargers, cash, a mobile phone, hard drives and a hat. Magistrate Erin O’Donnell adjourned the case for legal advice at the request of Aboriginal Legal Service defence lawyer Georgia Herford. Mr Graham did not enter pleas on any of the charges and will next appear in Albany Magistrates Court on October 24.
