The City of Albany is calling on the community to help design a new playground for Lockyer’s Apex Park at Lake Weelara.

Residents are invited to take part in a design workshop on October 31 to help decide what fun features should be added to the park.

City reserves manager Jacqui Freeman said playgrounds, parks and reserves existed for the community, so residents’ contributions were vital to ensure infrastructure met community needs.

“The Apex Park workshop will be an open forum to seek ideas from the community, their feedback in relation to how this play space can differ from our current playgrounds, what experiences they would like and key themes and features,” she said.

“We are coming into the project with an open mind, willingness to learn from our playground user groups and gain valuable insights into how Apex Park can add colour, vibrancy and fun to Lake Weelara.”

Work on the new park is expected to begin in early 2021.
