GSFL 2023: No action taken after tribunal hearing for alleged vilification in Magpies and Tigers match

The Great Southern Football League has issued a statement in relation to an alleged incident involving two players in the round 15 match between Railways and Denmark-Walpole. Following the match between the two sides on Saturday, August 12 the GSFL was made aware of an allegation of vilification towards a Magpies player. After that notification the GSFL took action as per the process of WA Country Football League rules and regulations. The GSFL provided an independent mediator to facilitate mediation. The matter was unable to be resolved at mediation and in accordance with the WACFL rules and regulations, the allegation was then referred to the WAFC community football tribunal. That tribunal hearing took place on Thursday night and on Friday the GSFL made a statement on the outcome. “All available evidence presented was considered, and due to inconsistencies, the tribunal found there was insufficient evidence to support the allegation of vilification,” the statement read. “The GSFL acknowledged all parties concerned and recognised the support provided from the WACFL and the WAFC throughout the process.”
