Great Southern duo Anthony Davis and Tyron Smallwood named in Claremont’s best in their victory over Peel Thunder

Great Southern duo Tyron Smallwood and Anthony Davis played important roles for Claremont’s league team as they recorded a 23-point victory over Peel Thunder at Revo Fitness Stadium on Saturday.

Both players were named in the Tigers’ best as they notched their third win of the season in round four of the 2020 WAFL season.

Smallwood only gathered seven touches playing as a high-pressure forward who rotated off the wing.

The former Royals and Albany junior applied four tackles to be an important contributor in the win.

Davis played a pivotal role in a defensive unit that kept the Thunder to five goals for the entire match. Hailing from Borden, Davis collected 10 touches to go with five marks in just his third league appearance.

North Albany product Declan Mountford continued his strong start to the season, amassing 18 disposals along with six marks, four tackles and three inside-50s.

Royals junior Tom Baldwin and Albany product Dylan Smallwood were also part of the win.

Ongerup-raised Angus Litherland picked up 14 touches and four tackles for Subiaco in their 50-point loss to South Fremantle, the Lions’ second defeat this season.

North Albany’s Alex Pearce backed up his strong debut game with another impressive display in the Tigers’ colts team as they won by 27 points to remain undefeated.

Pearce finished with 17 disposals and four marks to be named in the best players.

Denmark-Walpole giant Kalin Lane had 23 hit-outs to go with 12 possessions, while Albany product Brock Anning made his debut and collected nine possessions.
