Great Southern community donates 259 blankets to Triple M winter appeal for people experiencing homelessness

The Great Southern community has rallied to the call of the Triple M blanket appeal, donating 259 blankets to help keep people experiencing homelessness warm this winter. Triple M Albany appealed to the public to donate blankets for the homeless community ahead of the approaching winter. On Saturday, breakfast show announcer Atlas Cook broadcast live from the Albany Town Hall where a free sausage sizzle and free coffees were on offer. Along with the 259 blankets. The radio station also raised $627.50 from raffle ticket sales. All donations will go to Albany and Regional Volunteer Service and Pivot. Harvey Norman Albany also donated a $1000 cheque for the appeal. Albany and Regional Volunteer Service Manager Sarah Udecz said the organisation was “once again overwhelmed with the generosity from our community”. “Wow, what an amazing day,” she said.
