Great Sausage Sizzle Voucher Giveaway: Soccer club and musical group claim penultimate giveaway vouchers

The latest prizes from the Great Sausage Sizzle Giveaway have been awarded to two more worthy community winners.

Mt Lockyer Soccer Club and the Great Southern Diddly Fiddles will each received $200 vouchers to go towards running a sausage sizzle fundraiser as the May winners.

MLSC will put the proceeds of their sausage sizzle towards upgrading their uniforms which the club says have seen better days.

The club has more than 100 junior soccer players ranging from preprimary through to Year 6, and is also planning to upgrade its training equipment in the near future.

The recent addition of new committee members members has also energised the club by providing a number of extra helping hands.

The Great Southern Diddly Fiddles submitted a video as part of their submission in the giveaway where they performed a song.

“Please could we have some money for sausages, your kind donation will benefit all of us,” the song went.

“We’re going to Perth to play at the Concert Hall. It’s not for long, but it costs a bomb!

“Please oh please, help us to travel. If we cannot fundraise we think we’ll unravel

“We’re going to Perth on a great big bus. Your kind donation will help to fund us.”

The group is made up 30 Year 5, 6 and 7 violin and viola players who are part of the Department of Education’s Instrumental Music Schools Services program.

It will travel to Perth next week to represent the region in the IMSS OPUS Showcase concert at the Perth Concert Hall.

Each month this year Ray White Albany and the Advertiser have teamed to give community clubs, organisations or groups the opportunity to win vouchers to help them buy supplies for a sausage sizzle.
