Albany’s Dan Northcott has been appointed as general manager at Albany Golf Club.

Mr Northcott, who took on the role in December, hopes to provide the best service to the club’s members.

“I’m excited to take on the job — I grew up here as a junior back in the late 80s and I’ve been in the golf industry for about 25 years,” he said. “I want to provide the best service we can to our members.

“Membership is steady at the moment and we are also running a promotion targeting younger people to get into the club.”

Mr Northcott is taking the reins from long-standing manager Ian Redmond.

The AGC general manager is tasked with a number of roles including club tournaments headlined by January’s Wittenoom Cup Carnival, one of regional WA’s biggest drawcards.

The club hosts weekly competitions as well as charity events throughout the year.

The golf course recently made it into Golf Australia’s Top 90 Public Access Courses in Australia 2019.
