Women are being encouraged to dress to impress on Sunday for the annual Ladies’ Day meeting at Albany Racing Club.

Held at the Percy Spencer Racecourse, it will be headlined by the $100,000 TABTouch Fitzpatrick Plate and the $35,000 Pelicans Albany Golden Bracelet (1600m).

The Great Southern regional heat will be a chance for women to score a spot in the WA Country Cups Fashions on the Field Final at Ascot Racecourse.

The winner of each regional round takes part in the final at Ascot in December.

Albany Racing Club manager Jack Young said this weekend’s meeting promised to be a good day’s racing.

“I am really looking forward to Ladies’ Day this Sunday,” he said.

“It should be a terrific day ... we have loads of entertainment including live music and bouncy castles and Jamie the Clown.”

Mr Young said he was hoping to see more than 1000 punters and was excited to be introducing cashless payment on the day.

“For our big meets, every patron will purchase a Cashless Neap Solutions wrist band for only $3.50 to make all your bar and food purchases on the day,” he said.

Gates open at noon and there will be bus services after the last race.
