Gallant Magpies 1 outfit unable to stick with Narrikup 1 in tense second semifinal clash

Narrikup 1 progressed straight through to the Albany Netball Association A1 grand final after a tense five-goal victory over the Magpies 1 in their second semifinal clash on Saturday.
The reigning premiers will enjoy a week off and face the winner of this Saturday’s preliminary final between the Magpies and the Royals Saints 1.
Despite both sides winning two quarters each, it was Narrikup who prevailed 47-42.
After holding a three-goal advantage at half-time, Narrikup pushed their advantage to eight heading into the last quarter as they outscored the Magpies by five goals in the third.
The Magpies fought back in the last quarter, outscoring their opponent by three goals, but it wasn’t enough to snatch back the lead.
Narrikup held a 22-19 lead at the main change, set up by a strong first quarter.
They netted 14 goals in the first term to lead by six before the Magpies responded in the second quarter, outscoring them by three to reduce the deficit.
However, the third term proved decisive for the reigning premiers, who are into a second straight decider.
