City of Albany council have rejected plans for a new service station at the busy Chester Pass roundabout on Albany Highway.

Councillor Alison Goode presented an alternate motion urging councillors to refuse the proposal.

The motion highlighted the risk of health and safety to road users and pedestrians.

The alternate motion was passed 10-2.

Crs Nicolette Mulcahy and Anthony Moir voted against the alternate motion.

Cr Mulcahy raised concerns about the State Administrative Tribunal overturning council’s decision.
