York Street’s Flourish Eclectic is standing out for the month of February with its rosy-red window display and pink post-it notes in the shape of a love heart leading up to Valentine’s Day this week.

Flourish Eclectic owner Mel Sims says the idea is to encourage people to come inside and write a message of what they love and stick it on the business window.

“We wanted to do something to involve our customers a bit more this year, and be a bit more interactive,” she said.

“Valentine’s Day isn’t just about sending flowers, it’s a time where people can reflect on what’s important to them and what they truly love.”

The business is flowing with Valentine’s Day orders not just for partners but for grandparents and friends.

“We’ve got a nice collaboration of everybody’s thoughts, what’s amazing in the world, and all those things that we kind of forget to think about sometimes,” Ms Sims said.

“It’s a time to be grateful and appreciate all of the beautiful things in our lives.”

Valentine’s Day is this Wednesday, February 14.
