FLASHBACK: Albany toilet bandit
An Albany woman is waging a war against a local toilet bandit, who continues to use her private outdoor rest room without permission.
Shannen Fox first noticed the presence of an intruder outside her Emu Point home when her toilet paper began to go missing.
“I live in an older house, which has an outdoor toilet ... it doesn’t look like a public area, but my yard isn’t fenced off so I suppose it’s easy enough to get to, ” she said. “It looks like a holiday house — perhaps my toilet trespasser thinks no one lives there.”

Ms Fox has contacted the Albany police in an attempt to ward off the toilet bandit, who suggested sensors and cameras in the area.
“It’s trespass and makes me feel pretty uncomfortable, ” she said.
“If someone needs to use my bathroom, I would have no issue if they just asked me — but being so stealthy is so weird.”
Ms Fox said the next step would be putting cling wrap over the bowl to catch them out.
“I have just been leaving my lights on out there so they know someone is home and they might get caught, ” she said.
There was one positive out of her experience:
“The toilet trespasser is very polite, and puts the lid down.”
