First player to hit Delta Agribusiness sign in Southern Smash final wins brand new Warrior 800 worth $22,000

One lucky big hitter could drive away with a brand new four-wheel drive off-road vehicle after the final of this year’s Southern Smash. Delta Agribusiness and Aviso WA have partnered with the Southern Smash organisers to offer a Warrior 800 four-wheel drive off-road buggy valued at $22,000 for the first player to hit the sign with a six during the grand final on Friday afternoon. Competition rules state the sign must be hit on the full without interference from a fielder and can include a super over but is restricted to only the final between the top two sides in Albany’s marquee T20 competition. It can be done on extra deliveries from wides and no-balls and is a one-off prize and therefore the first player to hit the sign wins the Warrior. The sign will be situated at long-off or long-on when bowling from the city end of Turf North in the final. Nathan Dovey, who is part of the Southern Smash committee, said the prize would be an extra incentive for batsmen to go big in the decider. “It’s just great to having something like this on offer,” Dovey said. “Delta Agribusiness wanted to get involved and they love to support country sport. “It’s another element and there are so many cool elements to the tournament. “It will just be really exciting if it gets hit and even when someone hits one near it, the crowd will be going off.”
