Firefighters quickly extinguish McKail blaze

It took just minutes for crews to extinguish the blaze which was in scrubland opposite a new housing subdivision in McKail.

Nearly 20 firefighters and volunteers attended the scene just after 6pm and the fire was under control almost immediately, water bombers were considered due to the location of the fire however weren’t required after further assessment.

The cause is unknown at this stage and anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
