Fathers, kids bond at camp
A group of fathers and their children were given an urban camping experience at Bethel Christian School last Friday night.
The school hosted an overnight camp, with nearly 50 dads and about 100 students pitching a tent on the school oval as part of the Fathering Project.
The project is a not-for-profit charity based at the University of Western Australia and aims to assist fathers in recognising the important role they play in providing support for their children as the develop.
The camp included a variety of activities focused on dads and their children working together such as a tallest structure competition using newspaper and sticky tape.
BCS’ Phil Beeck said the camp was well received.
“It was a great success,” he said.
“There was a lot of positive feedback ... hopefully it is part of something bigger.”
