Questions about what is happening to the Shell petrol station near Albany’s five-way roundabout have been answered.
Owned by Viva Energy, the petrol station originally caused a stir in Albany because of its location near a notorious intersection.
A spokesman for Viva Energy has confirmed the service station is not closing, and is in fact gaining a Coles Express.
“The Shell Albany Orana is currently undergoing an upgrade to a Coles Express outlet,” the statement read.
The service station opened last year but closed its doors temporarily on April 15, with plans to reopen on May 6.
