There were some exciting and close games in a double-header weekend in the Albany Netball Association last Saturday and Sunday.

In the B3 division the undefeated Narrikup 7 took on the second-placed Bethel 4.

Narrikup set the early pace thanks to goal attack Kailee-Jo Foyle, who rarely missed a goal in the first term and her entire game up forward was a standout performance.

The second quarter went goal for goal with strong defensive pressure down the court from both teams, causing numerous turnovers.

Goal defender Bu Gay Moo made an impression for Bethel in the second term and was well supported by goal attack Eh Ler Paw Day.

Narrikup outscored their rivals in the third but Bethel kept fighting with sisters Fiona Grixti in goal attack and Ebony Grixti in goal shooter, impressing for Bethel.

This made for a very close last quarter and Bethel needed to make big inroads to grab the win.

Narrikup finished two-goal winners, 27-25, in what proved to be an excellent final term.

In the other round five matches, Royals Saints 7 beat Grammar 13, 33-18 and Grammar 12 were 31-24 winners against Grammar 11.

On Sunday in round six, Bethel 4 crushed Grammar 13 by 24 goals, and Grammar 12 made it a winning weekend as they beat Royals Saints 7, 46-21.

Narrikup 7 beat Grammar 11 by nine goals on Sunday.
