Albany Town Square will turn a little bit greener during the City’s annual environmental awareness fair on Saturday.

Green Fair in the Square will be headlined by visiting horticulturist Sabrina Hahn hosting who will share her wealth of gardening wisdom during a talk and QandA session.

While Hahn talk is already sold out, there there will be plenty more for festivalgoers to see and do among the 16 different stalls all promoting a more eco-friendly lifestyle.

There will be opportunities to appreciate nature in a different way at a craft stall, information about upcycling textiles, and native plants for sale.

Green Skills, Keep Australia Beautiful, South Coast Natural Resource Management, UWA and the Albany Community Environment Centre will all be on hand to provide information as well.

Another highlight of the day will be a miniature goat fashion parade taking centre stage from 12.45 pm following performances from Playlist Choir and Just Fiddling.

City of Albany chief executive Andrew Sharpe said the community’s support of the sustainability festival was important.

“Green Fair on the Square is a testament to Albany’s shared commitment to protecting our environment and improving both our individual and collective approach to sustainability,” he said.

“The festival has evolved into an important platform for people to come together and share knowledge, form connections and inspire change throughout our community.”

Those who cycle to the fair will also be able to claim a free coffee and the sustainable transport stall will feature a Community Bike Chat to coincide with October being bike month.

The fair will take over Albany Town Square from 9.30am to 1.30pm.
