Eagles legends to kick goals for fundraiser

Tim EdmundsAlbany Advertiser

The major fundraiser for Albany Community Hospice will feature a Brownlow medallist for the first time when recently retired Eagles midfielder Matt Priddis arrives in Albany this weekend.

Three fundraising events have been planned including the annual Fundraising Dinner and Memorabilia Auction at Motel LeGrande on Saturday night.

A cocktail-style event at the White Star Hotel on Sunday afternoon has been included as well as a Sunday morning junior football clinic, with the two new events replacing the annual golf day this year.

Priddis will be joined by fellow West Coast Eagles great and AFL Hall of Fame member Glen Jakovich, who returns for his seventh time for the fundraising event.

As part of the visit, the duo will also visit hospice staff, volunteers and patients for an afternoon tea.

Organiser Todd McGregor said tickets were still available for both events and thanked the loyal support of sponsors and attendees.

He said places on the dinner table with Priddis and Jakovich were still available as well as bookings of tables of 10.

Tickets are also still available for the Sunday event for $60 a person from the venue.

The football clinic will be held at Railways Football Club, from 9am, on Sunday.
