A man suffered bleeding on the brain after he was hit on the head with a hammer in a home invasion in Spencer Park earlier this month. Albany detectives have seized the weapon used during the attack and are waiting on the results of forensic analysis. About 10.55pm on Wednesday, April 14, two males entered a home on Angove Road and seriously assaulted a male occupant before stealing property. The injured man was taken to Albany Health Campus, where he received medical treatment for a bleed on the brain. He has since been released. Det-Sen. Sgt Darryl Noye said police were calling for information to help identify the attackers. “Crime of this nature is disappointing,” Det-Sen. Sgt Noye said. “Investigators are doing everything they can to identify the persons responsible. “We have received several leads as a result of information provided to Crime Stoppers.” Detectives would like to speak to anyone with information about the home invasion. Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Spencer Park area should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report at crimestopperswa.com.au.
