Denmark’s Mill Art Group to hold Autumn Exhibition throughout April at Community Resource Centre

The Denmark Mill Art Group are holding their annual Autumn Exhibition this month, showcasing works by 15 local artists.

Open from April 7 to 23, the exhibition features a variety of artworks across a range of mediums from oil, watercolour and acrylic painting to textiles, origami and photography.

Artist Merylin Briggs’ fabric works reflect her background in making wedding dresses, Meryl Oversby takes inspiration from her life on a farm, and painter Lynley Lally uses traditional oil painting techniques to pack in detail.

Mill Art Group co-ordinator Marion Nelson, whose prints and origami artworks are also part of the exhibition, said the show was a major event on the group’s annual calendar.

“It features many new works that have never been shown before,” she said.

“The artists have been busy creating and have a lot to show locals and visitors.

“Our work is inspired by everyday life and the landscape that surrounds us.”

The gallery at the Denmark Community Resource Centre is open daily from 10am-4pm with one of the featured artists present at the gallery each day.
