Greens Pool has been named the fourth best beach in the South Pacific by international travel company Tripadvisor. On Monday, days after WA’s hard border reopened, Tripadvisor published its 2022 list of the Top 10 beaches in the South Pacific, with WA beaches filling four of those spots. Greens Pool is situated in William Bay National Park near Denmark, where granite boulders offer protection from the mighty Southern Ocean. The south coast tourist hotspot beat out the likes of Whitehaven Beach in the Whitsundays and Matira Beach in Bora Bora. The calm, clear waters of Greens Pool make it a popular snorkeling and swimming spot for the whole family. Exmouth’s Turquoise Bay was named the No. 1 beach in the South Pacific, followed by Cable Beach in WA’s north. The golden sands of Kaiteriteri Beach in New Zealand finished in third place. Premier Mark McGowan shared the news on his Facebook page saying West Australians “had always known that our beaches are special”. “We are so lucky to have such incredible natural wonders here in WA for locals to enjoy and for our tourism industry to attract visitors from around the world,” Mr McGowan said. Last month, Albany’s Misery Beach was named the best beach in the country for 2022 by Tourism Australia.
