Davestock 2023: Albany festival set to raise the roof as it raises funds with a celebration of life and love

Albany’s biggest and best charity musical festival Davestock is set to unleash an epic evening of love, unity and music at Retravision Stadium this month. The annual event celebrates the life of late Albany drummer Dave Morrison and all proceeds will go to the Albany Community Hospice to support the work of those who support others with compassion and care. A much-loved figure in the Albany live music scene, Mr Morrison received care at the hospice before his death at the age of 67 in July 2020. Now in its third year, the community festival is organised by Mr Morrison’s son Wade, a member of the renowned local group Tre Amici. In the lead-up to this year’s event, Wade will undertake an incredible fundraising journey through the South West and Great Southern, embarking on a three-day trek from Manjimup to Albany. The 219km trip, undertaken on an electric scooter at a speed of 15km/h, will see Wade perform sets at regional venues along the way in places that hold special significance for the Morrison family, including Frankland River and Mount Barker. Wade’s trip will end at Retravision Stadium in Albany where Davestock 2023 will begin. A host of local groups will take to the stage including Dig the Dust, Mitch “Fingers” Cullen and Simon London and the Spirits. With more than 100 tickets sold in the first two hours of opening, the show is set to be a banger. Davestock 2023 will take place on November 25 at Retravision Stadium in Albany from 6pm and tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite.
