Crystal Blues remain undefeated in the Albany Basketball Association women’s A-grade competition after a comfortable 35-point victory against Raiders in round three on Tuesday night. The win was set up in the first half by a busy Isabella De Giambattista as her team opened up a 15-point buffer and then extended their advantage in the last period to coast to a third straight win. Scores were level five minutes into the match before Crystal Blues gained ascendency and pulled away by half-time. De Giambattista was electric with 12 points in the half. Jorja Ward hit a three-pointer for Raiders to start the second half but that would be as close as they got, Crystal Blues outscoring them by 20 points in the second half. Crystal Blues cruised to a 58-23 victory to ensure they remain one game clear on top of the ladder. De Giambattista was terrific with 20 points and was well supported by Georgia Clark (15 points) and Casey Griffiths (10) who were strong on both ends of the floor as they caused plenty of turnovers and rebounded well. Tay Weeden top-scored for Raiders with seven and was a solid contributor along with Phoenix Woods (5) who tried to get plays happening for her team throughout the loss. Valkyries notched their second win of the season with a five-point victory over Sonics in the other fixture. Narelle Humphries led her side to victory with 12 points and Weeden added seven.
